GIOVANNA VAN LEEUWEN
Born in Wollongong, Australia, Giovanna’s journey in music began during her teenage years. She always had a passion for playing the piano, and during her late twenties she decided to make music her career.

In 2003 she completed the A.N.Z.C.A Series (Australian and New Zealand Cultural Arts) in which she graduated as an Associate Performer. Giovanna went on to graduate in 2005 with a Distinction for the Diploma of Music at the Wollongong Conservatorium. It was here that she discovered jazz !

She moved to Sydney the following year to pursue her music studies at the University of New South Wales, in the Bachelor of Music Performance degree. During which time she joined the jazz ensemble “The Con Artists” as pianist, as well as completing her 8th Grade Classical exams with the A.M.E.B.
In Sydney she was working as a professional piano teacher for the International School of Music where she taught the A.M.E.B. Series for classical piano.

Within 2 years of moving to Sydney, Giovanna married Danny Van Leeuwen, and decided to move to London, UK. In London she worked as a freelance pianist, accompanist and teacher for WaveLength Tuition as well as taking on her own private students in her studio in Bayswater, London. She was also part of the Christian Worship band at her home church, Kensington Temple, Notting Hill.

In the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, she is now taking on students in her studio at Rushcutters Bay, as well as continuing her Performance studies at the University of New South Wales.
Giovanna has combined contemporary, classical and jazz pieces in her repertoire.
